As a mental health therapist, my philosophy centers on promoting mental health and wellness, providing support during crises and high-stress experiences, and facilitating connections to resources. I believe in a collaborative and strengths-based approach that honors the unique qualities of each person. In times of crisis or heightened stress, I am committed to providing immediate and compassionate support. Crisis intervention involves creating a safe space for individuals to express their feelings, fostering resilience, and collaboratively developing strategies to navigate challenges.
I am committed to continuous education on the intricacies of law enforcement culture, aiming to understand the distinctive challenges and stressors faced by first responders, while also staying informed about best practices for treatment and promoting enhanced mental wellness.
Trauma-informed care is an important component, and in March, I will complete full training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). This approach offers first responders a rapid and effective therapeutic method, significantly reducing the emotional impact of traumatic experiences, promoting quicker emotional recovery, and enabling them to resume their duties with enhanced mental well-being.
Payments
At this time, my services are exclusively available to law enforcement agencies and it has been unnecessary to bill insurance. I am open to meeting each public service entity at their location and will accept varied payment options (insurance, EAP or secured grant monies). I can assist public service entities in applying for and securing grant monies for services.
