The Fraternal Order of Police is proud to partner with Gratitude Initiative (GI) and the FOP Auxiliary in support of law enforcement children and families nationwide.
Gratitude Initiative is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2013 to support the children and families of those who serve our nation and communities. For more than a decade, GI has helped military and veteran children succeed in college, career, and life through its nationally recognized College Success Academy program.
Beginning in 2026, GI expanded its mission to serve the children and families of full-time law enforcement officers and retired FOP members nationwide.
Together, the Fraternal Order of Police, the FOP Auxiliary, and GI are helping establish July as Law Enforcement Child Month — a national grassroots initiative focused on recognizing, celebrating, and strengthening the children and families behind the badge.
Every law enforcement officer understands service, sacrifice, and commitment. For officers with families, the profession often becomes the family business, with spouses and children sharing in both the sacrifices and pride that come with the profession. GI believes strong families help build strong officers, and when families feel supported and valued, entire communities benefit.
Through educational programming, partnerships, community engagement, and family-centered initiatives, GI works to ensure law enforcement children know they are seen, appreciated, supported, and never forgotten.
