On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, Officers O’Reilly and H. Alexander responded to 498 Penn Street for a report of an injured hawk near the bus stop by the old bank.
Upon arrival, Officer Alexander safely secured a peregrine falcon suffering from heat-related distress. The bird was transported to Red Creek Wildlife Center, where it is receiving fluids and care.
The falcon is expected to make a full recovery and will be released back into the wild once ready.
This incident highlights the coordination between law enforcement and wildlife professionals in responding to animal emergencies.
