FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) FOR GOT PATCHES?
1. WHAT KIND OF PATCHES CAN I SUBMIT?
We’re accepting official department shoulder patches from active or retired law enforcement officers. Agency-issued patches are preferred. We welcome all patches from the law enforcement family—local, state, and federal agencies; corrections; dispatch; K9; and other law enforcement roles. If you serve or have served, your patch belongs on the wall.
2. CAN I SUBMIT A PATCH IF I’M RETIRED?
Yes! If it’s your department and part of your story, we’d love to include it—retired officers are absolutely welcome to participate.
3. CAN I INCLUDE A NOTE OR NAME WITH MY PATCH?
If you’d like to include a note about who the patch is from (name, rank, years of service, etc.), feel free to attach it or include it in the envelope. We can’t promise individual recognition on the wall, but we’re saving all submissions for future projects.
4. WILL THE PATCHES BE RETURNED?
Patches will not be returned—they’ll become a permanent part of the FOP’s patch wall and historical collection. Please only send patches you’re willing to part with.
5. WHAT WILL THE WALL LOOK LIKE?
The wall will grow throughout the conference and feature a wide variety of patches from local, state, and federal agencies. After conference, we plan to turn it into a traveling or permanent display for future FOP events.
6. CAN I SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE PATCH?
Yes! If you have extras from the same agency or patches from different departments you’ve served with, we’ll gladly accept multiple. Just make sure each one is clearly marked.
7. WHAT IF I CAN’T DROP IT OFF MYSELF?
You can:
