Dear Mr. Yoes:
I want to thank your association for being strong advocates for our law enforcement partners during these unprecedented times. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way in which the world operates, and our law enforcement officers are now mandated to perform their mission under new and difficult circumstances. During these challenges, officers across the country are working to support lawful protests and mitigating ongoing violence in their communities. I cannot express my endearing gratitude enough for the sacrifices our law enforcement officers and their families make every day as they honor the badge and protect our communities.
The Department of Homeland Security will continue to partner and work efficiently with you, as we all serve on the front lines together, performing heroic work around the nation. This commitment to honor, serve, and protect does not go unnoticed by the Department, and it’s greatly appreciated.
The Department is deeply appreciative of the role all law enforcement officers and the law enforcement associations play in protecting our communities. Thank you for standing shoulder to shoulder with the many law enforcement departments around the nation during these trying times. Your bravery, service, and fidelity to justice makes this great nation of ours stronger, more resilient, and more secure.
Sincerely,
Chad F. Wolf
Acting Secretary
