FOP Monthly Update: Officers Shot and Killed

The National Fraternal Order of Police regrets to report that as of midnight on 28 February, there have been 62 officers shot in the line of duty in 2026 (+7% from 2025 YTD; -4% from 2024 YTD). Of those officers shot, 7 of them were killed (-12% from 2025 YTD; +0% from 2024 YTD). The year with the highest number of officers shot through this date was 2022, when 67 officers were shot through the first two months of that year.

There have been 11 ambush-style attacks on law enforcement officers this year. These ambush-style attacks have resulted in 14 officers shot, 3 of whom were killed. To read the full report, please click here.
