FOP Monthly Update: Officers Shot and Killed

The National Fraternal Order of Police regrets to report that as of midnight on 31 December, there have been 347 officers shot in the line of duty in 2025 (+1% from 2024 YTD; -8% from 2023 YTD). Of those officers shot, 45 of them were killed (-10% from 2024 YTD; –2% from 2023 YTD). The year with the highest number of officers shot through this date was 2023 when 378 officers were shot through the entire year. 

There have been 67 ambush-style attacks on law enforcement officers this year. These ambush-style attacks have resulted in 90 officers shot, 22 of whom were killed. To read the full report, please click here.
