Today, National President Patrick Yoes testifies before the House Committee on Homeland Security to discuss the alarming increase of targeted attacks on law enforcement and the need for Congress to pass “The Protect and Serve Act.” The bill, which is a top priority of the FOP, would impose in limited circumstances, Federal penalties on individuals who deliberately target local, State or Federal law enforcement officers with violence. As of November 30 2025, 314 officers have been shot in the line of duty, and 43 killed. There have been 62 ambush-style attacks on law enforcement officers this year. These ambush-style attacks have resulted in 83 officers shot, 21 of whom were killed.
