FOP Monthly Update: Officers Shot and Killed

The National Fraternal Order of Police reports that as of midnight on 30 November, there have been 350 officers shot in the line of duty so far in 2023 (+10% from 2021 YTD; +23% from 2020 YTD). Of those officers shot, 42 of them were killed by gunfire (-29% from 2021 YTD; -7% from 2020 YTD).

There have been 108 ambush-style attacks on law enforcement officers this year. These ambush-style attacks have resulted in 130 officers shot, 19 of whom were killed by gunfire.
